Preparation & Resources

Timing & Setup
- Pandit ji arrives 45 — 60 minutes early to set up.
- Please clean / mop the puja area beforehand.
- Choose the North-East corner of the home (or arrange seating facing East, North, or West).
- If Havan is included: ensure cross-ventilation and keep safe distance from smoke alarms.
Personal Preparation
- Wake up at sunrise if possible.
- Fasting is optional but recommended — tea, fruits, smoothies, vrat food allowed.
- Strictly vegetarian diet for the day, no garlic or onion.
- Wear comfortable, traditional clothing.
- A low stool or chair is fine if you cannot sit on the floor.
Offerings & Prasad
- If cooking prasad, use no garlic or onion.
- Recommended for Havan: Sheera, Halwa, or Kheer.
- Keep Paan leaves wrapped in a damp cloth to stay fresh.
Items to Arrange
- Paper towel roll, bedsheets (to cover floor), compostable bowls, plates, spoons, 1 pair of scissors.
- Keep your own puja utensils or family supplies nearby if you have them.
- Optional: offer tea / water to Pandit ji during breaks.
